ABOUT THE HIGH SCHOOL PROGRAM

PAWS High School is an educational program designed for dedicated and talented students from

years 7 to 12 to complete their High School education remotely and excel in their performing arts

training.

This initiative aims to provide our high school students with the chance to receive personalized tutoring in a secure environment, allowing them to nurture and enhance their performing arts skills. Not only will they benefit from small group sessions, but they will also have the opportunity to earn the RTO Certificate 3 & 4 in Dance, a qualification typically obtained post-school through full-time programs.

OUR PARTNERS

We are launching the Performing Arts High School at PAWS Studios in partnership with the Australian Christian College.

ACC’s program has qualified teacher support, registered curriculum and university pathways. ACC's team of university-qualified and experienced teachers stretch, challenge, and grow our students’ academic abilities using technology solutions from the likes of Google for Education, Apple and Khan Academy.

EDUCATION IS OUR PRIORITY

Quality education is highly valued within the PAWS community and this program gives students

the opportunity to focus on their studies independently, be supported with an individual learning

plan and develop their skills and passions of performing arts with extensions on their extra-

curricular teaching and learning experiences. We believe that education comes first and foremost.

At the completion of each school day, if a student has not completed their assigned tasks, they will

not be permitted to participate in extension activities. Achieved tasks will be encouraged and

supported resolving in joined participation in extension activities.

Distance education suits a wide variety of learners. Some students thrive as they escape

frustrations with distractions, commuting times, unstable friendships and wasted time during

school hours. Others have survived bullying and appreciate the respite distance education

provides. Students with learning disabilities such as ADHD, auditory processing problems, autism

and dyslexia benefit from the self-paced nature of distance education. Some have chosen

distance education while pursuing a passion in performing arts due to the flexible nature of the

learning timetable. Anxiety is a growing problem for students in schools and is shown to decrease

when learning remotely within a supported environment.

We are also determined to ensure that students don’t ‘miss out’ on any opportunities school

experiences have to offer. There will be time for social interaction in break times, peer interaction,

excursions, formals, presentations and all things possible to make the educational experience

enjoyable and rewarding.

PAWS high school offers your child the opportunity for personalized, one-on-one training in dance and performing arts, all within a smaller class environment. This approach helps them excel quickly and become the best, most confident performers they can be. Furthermore, we recognise the incredible value that performing arts bring in teaching life skills beyond dance, helping them develop into the best versions of themselves. They will explore all styles of dance & work with some of the best industry professionals Sydney has to offer.

PRINCIPAL

PRINCIPAL - REBECCA LIU-BRENNAN

With over two decades of teaching experience, I bring a wealth of knowledge and passion to our amazing students. As a teacher and mentor affiliated with the Royal Academy of Dance, I am committed to nurturing the artistic growth of each dancer.Throughout my career, I've had the privilege of choreographing for two groups on Australia's Got Talent, contributing to an opera production, and creating a piece for the talented Delta Goodrem at Project Pink—a significant breast cancer gala. These experiences have fueled my dedication to bringing creativity and excellence to every aspect of our dance programs.What truly sets PAWS apart is our incredible team. The collaborative spirit among our teachers, the way we network, and continually learn from one another, forms the foundation of this amazing facility for our kids to thrive and learn. I'm excited to continue fostering a love for dance and building confidence in every child who walks through our doors.

I'm so excited to be embarking on this new journey with PAWS High School, I've already seen the benefit with my own child through the program and can't wait to share this experience with so many others. Let's dance into a world of inspiration together!

ACADEMIC SUPERVISOR

ACADEMIC SUPERVISOR - ALISON TAPUSKA

Alison Tapuska is an accredited educator and Performing Arts specialist with over 20 years of

experience. She has facilitated the development of the PAWS High School program and will be the

Academic Supervisor.

This role is to ensure all students are supported in their remote learning

experience. She will work with students through their individualised learning program and assist in

timetabling, achievement, study, assignment completion, communication and personal support.
